 Registering Radios in the FCC’s ULS

 

Baicell’s radios and their locations must be registered in the FCC Universal Licensing System.

Begin by visiting: http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/index.htm

Click Log In to continue.

Enter your FRN Credentials then click Submit to continue.

Look at your list of “My Licenses” Look for the “NN” type radio service. Click the license link.

The next page will allow you to register a new location by clicking the Register Locations link, at the bottom-right of the page.

Next, click Add New Location.

Mark both drop down boxes as “No” unless otherwise directed.

The Site Data section requests information specific to the site, regarding the installation of the the equipment.

This section ensures that the location you are registering for will not interfere with the grandfathered Earth satellite stations, or have an adverse environmental effect. List all relevant information required. For more information on grandfathered Earth satellite stations see this published document.

  • FCC ASR Number – This is the FCC Antenna Structure Registration number. Structures that contain equipment must be registered.
  • Site Name – The designation you wish the site to be known as.
  • Transmitter Latitude – The latitude of the transmitter whose location is being registered.
  • Transmitter Longitude – The longitude of the transmitter whose location is being registered.
  • City – The city in which the transmitter will be located.
  • County/Borough/Parish – The County/Borough/Parish where the transmitter will be located.
  • State – The State where the transmitter will be located.
  • Elevation of the Site AMSL – The elevation that the transmitter will be Above Mean Sea Level. This measurement must be done in meters and must be rounded to the nearest tenth.
  • Overall Height AGL Without Appurtenances – The height Above Ground Level to the highest point of the structure, not including accessories. This measurement must be done in meters and must be rounded to the nearest tenth. This measurement must include the height of the building/tower, elevator shaft, flagpole, or penthouse, but not the antenna, tower, pole or mast.
  • Overall Height AGL With Appurtenances – The overall height Above Ground Level of the entire antenna structure to the highest point of the structure. This includes any antennas, dishes, and obstruction lighting.
  • Support Structure Type – The structure that the transmitter and antenna will be located.

In this section you will be required to put the specific information for the antenna you will be using with your transmitters.

  • Manufacturer – The name of the manufacturer of the antenna you will be using with your transmitter.
  • Model Number: Baicells products come standard with an Integrated Antenna. Enter “Integrated” or “Integrated Antenna” in this field.
  • Gain – The dBi gain of the antenna.
  • Beamwidth – The width of the antenna beam by degrees. When registering the indoor CPE enter 360 in this box. The 19.5 dB Atom UE beamwidth is 20 degrees. The 11 dB Atom UE beamwidth is 90 degrees.
  • Center Line – The Above Ground Level height in meters of the center of the antenna.
  • Azimuth – The azimuth of the transmit in degrees, rounded to one decimal place, clockwise from True North. When registering the indoor CPE enter 360 in this box.
  • Elevation Angle – The angle of elevation of the antenna, rounded to one decimal place.
  • Polarization – This should be “D” for dual slant +/-45 degree polarized

After submitting the information click continue to move onto the next section.

The next page requires that you supply transmitter data information, and some values differ based on the product being used.

After filling in the proper information, click continue to move onto the next section.

This section reviews the information that you have provided. Ensure the information is correct, then continue to the next section.

The final requirement of the application process is an electronic signature. After you have read and understood the certification statements, sign the document and click submit the application.

Approval should be granted within one week.
