On the Path To 5G
5G will elevate mobile networks to interconnect people and control machines, objects, and sensors. It will increase performance through multi-Gbps peak rates, ultra-low latency and massive-MIMO connections that will empower the user experience and extend business opportunities to connect vertical industries. In order to efficiently support different use cases and different requirements from vertical industries, this 5G mobile network will need to be agile, scalable and sustainable. Baicells believes the conventional telecom infrastructure will be restructured with IT-based methods and an open-software mindset. While the 5G standards have yet to be set, we can start building out our 5G solution.
Virtualization technology decouples the software and hardware in RAN Architecture. All 4G/5G protocol stacks are virtualized into different components which could be deployed on top of general purpose hardware (x86 or ARM).
Modularization technologies provides a dynamic configuration of different network elements for both 4G and 5G core networks. This allows network elements to be deployed, centralized or distributed depending on the deployment scenarios.
Fog computing technology by Baicells MEC solution utilizes computing, storage and networking capabilities at the network edge. All resources are jointly and dynamically allocated to provide better services.
